Very informative book about Alzheimers, which will touch most families eventually. Real true to life story.
I really enjoyed this book. Hilarious, recognisable, caring and so moving. Well written I could not put the book down. Howling with laughter one minute and crying the next. I am privileged to have read this book. Thank you so much Martin, for sharing your thoughts and feelings.
Thoroughly enjoyed reading The Little Girl In The Radiator. This book gives great insight to the terrible world of Alzheimer's. Martin's struggle to keep his Mother at home with him is heartwarming and heartbreaking at the same time. He had me laughing out loud in parts and then, tearing up with the sadness and roar reality of the awfulness of the disease. Martin shows how Alzheimer's effects the entire family, taking our loved ones from us bit by awful bit. A wonderfully written book, would highly recommend to anyone.
Must read for anyone that is touched by this disease. Thank you for this on-site. It has been insightful for the family.
This book is heartrendingly hilarious, well written, and touching. I recommend to anyone with a family member/friend who has alzheimers.
My mother also suffers from Alzheimer's, so I was interested to read another caregiver's story. I was fascinated by the similarities and the differences between my story and his. I am learning every day that while no two Alzheimer's patients are the same, there are some behaviors that are shared. It is amazing to me that so few people are sharing their stories....I think it is because no one wants to admit how poorly we all handle it at first. I really appreciated the author being honest and humorous about his experiences. It is not funny to have a family member suffer and loose their mind....but sometimes things are just so bizarre that if you didn't laugh you would cry. I read this book in one sitting - I just did not want to put it down.
I stumbled across Martin's book, bought it, and couldn't put it down. Thank you Martin for putting your heart out there for all to see. God bless!
